ECDL testing

JSC “NRD” training center is certificated ECDL (European Computer Driving License) testing center with extensive testing and students preparation for ECDL test-taking experience. Training center is also included in to the civil servants’ professional development institutions list and covered a number of important public institutions employees, private companies and individual persons.

All of the training center instructors and testers have the appropriate education, qualification and experience, including theoretical and practical knowledge about distance learning, and they are also approved ECDL testers (ECDL certificate).

JSC “NRD” training center one of the first in Lithuania received mandate to train and test specialists by ECDL program. For this program there are provided the same computer literacy tests and test-taking procedures requirements as there are in the whole Europe. After passing the test it is gaining European Computer Driving License (ECDL) – a document showing that the holder has sufficient knowledge about information technology and the ability to use a personal computer and most commonly used application software.

To obtain ECDL certificate there is necessary to pass seven tests:

  •  M1 –Basic Concepts of Information Technology;
  •  M2 – Using the Computer and Managing Files;
  •  M3 – Word Processing;
  •  M4 – Spreadsheets;
  •  M5 – Database;
  •  M6 – Presentation;
  •  M7 – Information and Communication.

Tests are considering in ECDL system: http://www.ecdl.lt. One test passing time is 45 min. It is necessary to answer to 36 questions. Test is considered as passed when there are no less than 29 correct answers. When there are passed M1, M2, M3 and M7 modules tests, it is issued ECDL basics certificate – ECDL START. The main ECDL certificate is issued when there are passed all modules tests.

All seven modules tests that required for obtaining ECDL certificate is necessary to pass during a period of three years from the date of holding the first test.
